DETROIT (Ticker) -- While the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim have
been hot of late, they are just warming up compared to the
Detroit Red Wings.
The Mighty Ducks look to post their fourth straight victory
Wednesday as they square off against the Red Wings, who have
12 wins in their last 14 games.
Anaheim has scored five goals in three straight games - all
victories - the latest coming Tuesday, a 5-2 triumph over
Joffrey Lupul and rookie Corey Perry were among five different
goal scorers for the Mighty Ducks who got two assists apiece
from Ryan Getzlaf, Teemu Selanne and brothers Scott and Rob
Selanne has a five-game points streak, during which he has two
goals and five assists. He has made his way on to the
scoresheet in 20 of his last 22 contests.
Meanwhile, Detroit also has won three straight games and 11 of
its last 13 following Sunday's 5-3 victory over Chicago.
Pavel Datsyuk and defenseman Mathieu Schneider each had a goal
and two assists and Henrik Zetterberg added a tally and set up
another as the Red Wings jumped out to a 3-0 lead and cruised
Detroit has won two of three meetings with Anaheim this
