NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) -- With the playoffs approaching, the Nashville Predators continue to have a chance to fatten up on some of the league's worst teams.

Nashville can move closer to the postseason when it meets the Chicago Blackhawks for the second time in four days.

Thanks to a quirk in the schedule, the Predators will play the fourth contest in six games against the teams with the three worst records in the Western Conference.

However, Nashville has lost two of its last three outings and is in fourth place in the conference standings with a four-point lead over Anaheim.

Paul Kariya scored his 28th goal, Yanic Perreault had three assists and Chris Mason made 18 saves for his first shutout of the season to lead the Predators in Thursday's 3-0 victory over the St. Louis Blues.

Chicago has dropped four of its last five, including Friday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Edmonton Oilers. Kyle Calder tied the game with 1:59 left in regulation when he netted his 22nd goal.
