DENVER (Ticker) -- Joe Sakic is getting used to rubbing shoulders with the greatest scorers in league history.

After helping the Colorado Avalanche end a three-game losing streak, Sakic looks to add to his substantial point total in Friday's encounter with the Tampa Bay Lightning.

A former Hart and Lady Byng Trophy winner, Sakic collected three assists for Colorado in Monday's 5-3 victory over the Nashville Predators. He moved into 10th place on the all-time scoring list with 1,533 points, surpassing Paul Coffey.

An 18-year veteran, Sakic is the league's active leader in assists (942) and needs nine more goals to become the 17th player to score 600.

Tampa Bay split a home-and-home series with the Montreal Canadiens before posting a 3-2 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Thursday.

Vincent Lecavalier and Martin St. Louis had a goal and an assist each and Dan Boyle added his ninth tally of the season for the Lightning, who ended Minnesota's eight-game home winning streak.
