Sens' Neil to miss at least six weeks

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) -- Miroslav Satan and Chris Gratton each had
two goals and an assist Saturday night in the Buffalo Sabres' 6-3 preseason victory over the Ottawa Senators, who suffered an even bigger loss with an injury to right wing Chris Neil.

Neil will miss at least six weeks after
breaking the fibula in his left leg.

Neil, who led all NHL rookies with 231 penalty minutes last
season, was hurt when he fell awkwardly following a fight with
Buffalo's Sean McMorrow late in the second period.

Senators spokesman Phil Legault said Neil is not expected to
require surgery.

Jason Botterill and Milan Bartovic added goals for the Sabres
(1-1), who thoroughly dominated the Senators, outshooting them

Marian Hossa and Brad Smyth, with power-play goals, and Chris
Kelly, short-handed, scored for the Senators (1-1), coming off a
7-1 victory over Toronto on Friday night.

Satan and Botterill scored 12 seconds apart to seal the victory,
putting the Sabres ahead 6-3 with 8:21 left.

Satan's second goal was the prettiest of the game. Set up to the
left of the Ottawa net, Satan patiently waited for goalie Jani
Hurme to get out of position, before neatly tucking the puck in.

Sabres goalie Ryan Miller, who gave up his senior year at
Michigan State to sign with Buffalo last month, made his debut,
taking over for starter Martin Biron 12 minutes into the second
period. Miller allowed two goals on 14 shots, including Kelly's
20-footer, which sneaked in under his right arm.
