TAMPA, Fla. -- Dave Andreychuk added to his NHL career record of power-play goals just in time.

His 255th was scored unassisted with 55 seconds left in regulation as the Tampa Bay Lightning rallied for a 2-2 tie with the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday night.

Andreychuk was falling forward as he snapped a shot over the right shoulder of Jose Theodore while the Lightning had a 6-on-4 skating advantage.

"It's not one that I saw go in," Andreychuk said. "I was just trying to stop the puck along the boards. I was going to go back down low, but the (defense) gave me a chance to go out front with it."

Theodore admitted he made a mistake.

"He was falling. I didn't think he would have a decent shot," Theodore said. "I went down a little early and he just picked the corner."

Saku Koivu had a goal and an assist for the Canadiens, but he was stopped by Nikolai Khabibulin on a penalty shot midway through the third period.

"I did everything I wanted, to bring it from my backhand to my forehand," Koivu said. "The puck wasn't sliding. The puck was too close to my skates and I couldn't get it high."

Koivu broke a 1-1 tie with a wrist shot six minutes into the second period. The Montreal captain has 20 points in 17 games and four in two games against Tampa Bay this season.

Canadiens right wing Richard Zednik scored the only goal of the first period, deflecting in Patrice Brisebois' slap shot on a power play at 15:45.

Tampa Bay drew even on a power-play goal by Ruslan Fedotenko 2:21 into the second period. The Lightning outshot the Canadiens 20-6 in the second.

Theodore made 34 saves in his third start for Montreal since Claude Julien replaced fired coach Michel Therrien on Friday. The Canadiens have earned four of six possible points since.

Khabibulin is winless in five starts (0-3-2).
