Kane scores two, but Oshie spoils Quenneville's Hawks debut with SO winner
ST. LOUIS -- The Blues are winning in bunches and in different ways.
Just two days after blowing out the Dallas Stars, St. Louis rallied from two goals down in the third period to beat the Chicago Blackhawks in a shootout 4-3 Saturday night.
Fast Facts

• After failing to register four wins in their first five games for three straight seasons, the Blues have done so each of the last two years.
• Chicago is just 2-2 when Patrick Kane scores 2 goals.
• Nikolai Khabibulin is just 2-6 in shootouts since the start of the 2006-07 season.

Blues rookie T.J. Oshie scored the winning shootout goal, and spoiled the debut of Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville. St. Louis has won three straight, building off Thursday's 6-1 victory against the Stars.
Oshie scored the winner by simply sliding the puck past Nikolai Khabibulin, a move he called his favorite.
"It's been kind of my go-to-move since high school," Oshie said. "So I stuck with it."
With St. Louis trailing 3-2 late in the third period, Andy McDonald tied it with just 13.9 seconds left. He took a pass from Paul Kariya and beat Khabibulin for his first goal of the season.
"The puck kind of bounced around off a Chicago defender," McDonald said. "It came to me and I just wanted to get the puck on net."
Patrick Kane scored two goals and added an assist for the Blackhawks, who felt they let a win slip away.
"It just felt like we dominated that game and it's 3-1 with 10 minutes left," Kane said. "They got a couple of lucky goals and we end up with the loss."
The Blackhawks came out with urgency in Quenneville's first game behind their bench, and Kane scored his second of the season just 40 seconds in. Blues goalie Manny Legace gave up a big rebound when he couldn't handle Kris Versteeg's soft shot from the right circle. Kane slipped past defenseman Eric Brewer and slid the puck past Legace (4-0).
Legace gave up three goals on 26 shots and was relieved to come away with a victory.
"I give a lot of credit to the boys." Legace said. "They never gave up."
Despite the loss, Quenneville was happy to be back.
"It was good." Quenneville said. "My voice kept going on and off all night but it was great to be back there."
The second period started similarly as the Hawks again scored early. Defenseman Brian Campbell took a pass from Kane and lifted a wrist shot over Legace's glove, giving the Blackhawks a 2-0 lead at 3:43.
St. Louis got on the board late in the second period when rookie center Chris Porter scored at 17:11. After Barret Jackman's shot from the left point got through traffic, Porter was alone in front of the net to beat Khabibulin (1-1-1) with a backhander for his first NHL goal.
Chicago regained its two-goal advantage just three minutes into the third. With the Blackhawks on a power play, Kane took a pass from Campbell, skated in on Legace and wristed a shot over the goalie's right shoulder for a 3-1 lead. Chicago is 2-for-22 this season on power plays.
Keith Tkachuk made it a one-goal game when he one-timed a pass from Oshie past Khabibulin at 9:43 of the third for his sixth goal of the season.
Game notes
Blues G Chris Mason had an emergency appendectomy early Friday morning and is expected to miss two weeks. The Blues recalled G Marek Schwarz from AHL Peoria. Schwarz was 0-1. ...
