NEW YORK -- Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Curtis McElhinney was replaced by backup Mike McKenna in the second period of Thursday's game against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden.

According to the Blue Jackets, McElhinney sustained a lower-body injury in the first period; he turned away 15 of 16 shots faced in the opening frame.

The Blue Jackets' depth in goal keeps dwindling. The team is already without last year's Vezina Trophy winner Sergei Bobrovsky, who is on injured reserve with a groin injury.
