Penguins captain Crosby day-to-day with lower-body injury

PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby is dealing with a lower-body injury and could miss Monday night's game against Columbus.

Coach Mike Sullivan said Sunday that Crosby is day-to-day after getting hurt in Saturday night's 2-1 loss to Carolina. Sullivan said he believes Crosby was injured in the third period.

Crosby, a two-time Hart Trophy winner, has just six goals and 16 assists in 32 games for Pittsburgh, which has dropped five straight and is 0-4 under Sullivan.

Sullivan said Crosby will be evaluated Monday morning and that Crosby will play if he's ready, even though the Penguins have four days off after Monday's visit from Columbus.
