Capitals center Jay Beagle out six weeks after hand surgery

Washington Capitals center Jay Beagle is expected to resume "full hockey activities" in six weeks after undergoing surgery for a hand injury, the team announced Saturday.

Beagle, who has six goals and six assists this season, was injured in the Capitals' 5-2 victory against the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday night.

He re-signed with the Capitals prior to this season, getting a $5.25 million, three-year contract after setting career highs in goals (10) and assists (10) last season.
