Blues' Paul Stastny set to return after 2-game injury absence

St. Louis Blues center Paul Stastny said he's ready to return Thursday night against the Carolina Hurricanes after missing the past two games with a deep gash on his left cheek.

Stastny missed victories over the Kings and Devils with the injury, which he suffered in Friday's shootout loss to the Ducks.

In that game, a puck ricocheted off a Ducks player's skate and caught Stastny in the cheek. He wasn't put in the concussion protocol, but he said he had been experiencing headaches after receiving the cut.

Earlier in the season he missed 16 games with a broken right foot.

Statsny, 30, has three goals and 15 assists this season.
