Penguins' Nick Bonino out 'at least a month' with hand injury

Pittsburgh Penguins center Nick Bonino will miss "at least a month" after suffering a hand injury earlier this week, general manager Jim Rutherford said Thursday.

Bonino, who has three goals and 10 points this season and is second on the team in faceoffs, was injured during Tuesday's loss to Carolina.

"He's going to be missed in a lot of areas," coach Mike Sullivan told reporters. "He's a real smart player. He's been a big part of the penalty-kill. He's a guy you can lean on to take faceoffs in the defensive zone when you need him."
