Pens F Craig Adams has appendectomy

Pittsburgh Penguins forward Craig Adams is expected to be ready for the start of training camp after undergoing laparoscopic appendectomy surgery on Friday.

His recovery should take four weeks, according to the Pittsburgh doctor who performed the surgery.

Adams signed a two-year extension with the Penguins on June 10.

He played 80 games for the Penguins last season, recording four goals and 15 points.
