Ben Lovejoy out 3-4 weeks
PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Ben Lovejoy will miss three to four weeks after undergoing arthroscopic surgery Tuesday on his right knee.
Lovejoy injured the knee Sunday in the first period of a 5-2 win over New Jersey. The injury means Lovejoy likely will miss Pittsburgh's first-round playoff series.
Coach Dan Bylsma says defenseman Kris Letang will not play Tuesday against the New York Islanders because of a lower-body injury. Letang suffered the injury in the third period against the Devils.
Bylsma says it does not appear to be related to the concussion that sidelined Letang for several weeks earlier this season.
Fellow defenseman Matt Niskanen also will not play against the Islanders with an undisclosed injury.
The Penguins recalled Simon Despres and Brian Strait from Wilkes Barre/Scranton to fill in.
