The Winnipeg Jets could have former first-round pick Al Montoya guarding their nets this season, agreeing to terms with the 27-year-old goalie Wednesday.
The new contract is for one year, $601,000, a source told ESPN.com's Pierre LeBrun.
Montoya played in 31 games for the New York Islanders last season, posting a 9-11-5 record and a 3.11 goals-against average.
He was the sixth overall pick in the 2004 NHL draft, taken by the New York Rangers.
