NHL 13: Week 4 simulation
Welcome to Week 4 of the EA SPORTS NHL '13: 2012-2013 NHL Season Simulation. Simulations will be released on a weekly basis and will include top headlines, three stars of the week, box scores for each game, as well as standings and statistics for the league. The rosters used in the simulation will include all transactions made during the 2012 NHL free agency period.
Headlines
• The San Jose Sharks have five of the top 10 scorers in the NHL: Joe Pavelski (first); Joe Thornton (fifth); Patrick Marleau (sixth); Logan Couture (seventh); and Ryane Clowe (10th).• The Anaheim Ducks find themselves last in the Western Conference due to injury woes.
• Losing two of three this week, the Montreal Canadiens' historic win streak to open ended at eight games.
• The Toronto Maple Leafs have the highest power-play percentage in the league at 27.1 percent.
• Injury Report: Pittsburgh's Evgeni Malkin will be out 3-4 months with a sprained MCL; Anaheim's Sheldon Souray will be out one week with an undisclosed upper body injury; Anaheim's Ryan Getzlaf out 3-4 weeks with a fractured elbow; Anaheim's Andrew Cogliano out 4-6 weeks with a broken foot.
