Miikka Kiprusoff mulling retirement

Miikka Kiprusoff will remain with the Calgary Flames and is considering retiring after this season, a source told ESPN.com's Pierre LeBrun.

Kiprusoff, 36, had been the subject of multiple trade rumors but is hesitant to leave Calgary, the source told LeBrun. The veteran goaltender is scheduled to make $1.5 million next season, the last year of his six-year contract.

The 2006 Vezina Trophy winner, Kiprusoff has spent the past nine seasons with the Flames. He is 6-10-2 with a career-worst 3.64 goals-against average in 18 games this season.

Kiprusoff had been rumored as a potential trade target of the Toronto Maple Leafs, who are looking to bolster their goaltending.
