Six outdoor games not such a bad thing
We're not privy to the NHL's marketing slogan for the 2013-14 season, but it might be something like "Go Big or Go Home, but Definitely Go Outdoors." Of course, if you read much of the negative commentary surrounding the NHL's decision to multiply its successful outdoor game model like so many bunnies next season -- with six in-the-elements events on the docket -- you'd think the league was determined to bring back the glowing puck and make all its players wear uniforms with blinking lights.

Six outdoor games?
UPDATE: Here we go. Sportsnet's John Shannon reports the NHL has officially confirmed "the first of many" outdoor games scheduled for next season. The Chicago Blackhawks will host the Pittsburgh Penguins at Soldier Field on March 1, 2014.

Pageau Nets The Game Winner In The Nhl's Regular Season Finale
From Elias: Jean-Gabriel Pageau scored the game-winning goal for the Senators in their 4-2 victory at Boston in the final game of the 2012-13 NHL season. Pageau, who made his NHL debut less than three weeks ago, has scored two goals for the Senators and they've both been game-winners. (His first goal was the decider in Ottawa's win at New Jersey on April 12.) The only other player whose first two NHL goals were both game-winning goals for the Senators is Andre Benoit, who pulled off that feat earlier this year (February 19 vs. the Islanders and March 28 vs. the Rangers).
