Jones edges Spillane for second Cup title

PARK CITY, Utah -- Clint Jones of Steamboat Springs, Colo., had the longest jump of the day to edge Nordic combined skier Johnny Spillane by 3.1 points and win his second Continental Cup ski jumping meet at Utah Olympic Park on Sunday.

In the final round of the two-day meet, Jones, 17, had jumps of 119 and 124.5 meters for 236.8 points. Spillane, also from Steamboat Springs, jumped 120 and 124 meters but received lower style points from the five judges to finish with 233.7.
