Two others join U.S. team

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. -- Tim Burke and Sarah Granroth won sprints Friday and qualified for the U.S. biathlon team at next month's world championships.

Burke, of Paul Smith's, was first in the 10-kilometer race, finishing in 33 minutes, 5.7 seconds. Granroth, of Yarmouth, Maine, led the women's 7.5-kilometer sprint in 24:35.7.

Jacob Beste, of Minneapolis, and Denise Teela, of Anchorage, Alaska, placed second in the men's and women's sprints. They also made the team for the world championships, ...
