U.S. bests Britain for gold at worlds
FREMANTLE, Australia -- Anna Tunnicliffe's U.S. crew won all four races Friday to beat Britain to the women's match-racing gold medal at the world sailing championships.
Tunnicliffe, with Deborah Capozzi and Molly Vandemoer, contended with variable wind conditions to dominate British skipper Lucy Macgregor, Annie Lush and Kate Macgregor.
The French crew of Claire Leroy beat Russia, skippered by Ekaterina Skudina, 3-1 to claim the bronze medal.
