Nemanja Nesic dies during practice

BELGRADE, Serbia -- Serbian rower Nemanja Nesic died Wednesday during a training session, a senior official with the country's rowing federation said. He was 24.

General secretary Nebojsa Jevremovic said Nesic collapsed during a morning practice in his hometown of Smederevo, east of the capital Belgrade. Jevremovic said a rower, who was training with Nesic, and his coach, rushed the athlete to shore, where a medical team was waiting. They could not revive him.
