Uzbek gymnast gets 6-month ban

LAUSANNE, Switzerland -- The International Gymnastics Federation has banned a gymnast from Uzbekistan for six months for doping at the London Olympics.

The FIG says 20-year-old Luiza Galiulina is suspended through Jan. 30.

Galiulina tested positive in London for furosemide, a banned diuretic, in a urine sample taken two days before the Games opened. She was not expected to contend for a medal.
