Svindal wins WCup downhill title, fog cancels race

LENZERHEIDE, Switzerland -- Fog has forced the cancellation of the final downhill race of the season, giving Aksel Lund Svindal his first title in the discipline.

The Norwegian maintained his 58-point lead over defending champion Klaus Kroell of Austria. Svindal already has won the crystal globe trophy in super-G.

Fog shrouded parts of the Lenzerheide slope in Switzerland and fans in the grandstands couldn't see the finish line. Still, organizers say they hope to run the women's downhill ...
