Slovakian cyclist Peter Sagan wins Ghent-Wevelgem

BRUSSELS -- Peter Sagan of Slovakia made a solo breakaway with 2.5 miles left to win the Ghent-Wevelgem classic Sunday, extending his lead in the WorldTour standings.

Sagan's surprise move left 10 other riders standing, giving him a 28-second advantage at the finish. He won in 4 hours, 29 minutes, 10 seconds.

After finishing second in his past two WorldTour races, the leader of the Cannondale Pro Cycling team has his first big victory of the season.
