Holley Mangold doesn't have time for stereotypes or trash talk. The weightlifter is all about making the most of her opportunities in life and sports.

"Her size has never bothered her at all. ... In Holley's mind, everything is right in the world," said her mother, Therese Mangold. "She's very comfortable with where she is, and she's always been like that. "

Though Holley was once projected to be a 2016 Olympic prospect, her skills have grown ahead of schedule. Now, she'll compete in London and hopes to bring home the first American medal in the event in 12 years.

"I'm going to do my best to make it happen," she said. "I didn't want to go to the Olympics just to go." Carmen R. Thompson » Mangold's path Video
