LAUSANNE, Switzerland -- All 437 drug tests were negative at
this summer's swimming World Championships.
The sport's governing body said Monday 237 athletes from 42
countries were tested for a total of 374 tests during the
championships. In addition, the World Anti-Doping Agency, in
cooperation with FINA, did 63 out-of-competition tests in the days
leading to the Montreal meet.
FINA said 61 urine tests to detect the endurance-boosting
hormone EPO and 313 conventional urine tests were done during the
July 17-31 championships.
FINA said there were 204 tests in swimming, 26 in diving, 11 in
synchronized swimming, 32 in open water events and 40 in water
