Three-time Olympian Snyder, 4 other shooters make U.S. Olympic team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Rebecca Snyder earned a spot on her fourth consecutive Olympic team Monday, winning the air pistol competition at the U.S. shooting trials.

Snyder, of Grand Junction, Colo., was one of five Americans to qualify at the trials. Stephen Scherer and Jason Parker will represent the U.S. in men's air rifle, Emily Caruso in women's air rifle, and Jason Turner in men's air pistol.

Matt Emmons, a 2004 gold medalist in the prone rifle event, failed to qualify Monday in air rifle. Emmons has already earned spots for Beijing in prone rifle and three-position rifle.

Snyder, 31, has never won an Olympic medal.

The U.S. shotgun shooting trials will take place March 8-16 in Kerrville, Texas.
