South Korea gets third gold of Games

ATHENS, Greece -- South Korea beat Taiwan 251-245 Saturday
to win the gold medal in men's team archery.

Im Dong-hyun, Park Kyung-mo and Jang Yong-ho won South Korea's
third archery gold of these Olympics. Ukraine beat the United
States 237-235 to win the bronze.

The Koreans also won three golds in 2000.

"It is the happiest day of my life," Im said. "This gold
medal has motivated me to make plans for the next Olympics."

The Koreans edged the Netherlands 250-249 in the quarterfinals,
then beat Ukraine 242-239 in the semifinals. They won the same
three events in Athens as in Sydney: men's team, women's team and
women's individual.

Americans Vic Wunderle, Butch Johnson and John Magera beat
Sweden 246-242 in their first match of the day, then upset Italy
243-240 before losing to Taiwan 244-243.

"I think that we did our best," said Wunderle, who won an
individual silver medal and a team bronze in Sydney. "I believe
that we have one of the best teams in the world. It is now up to us
to work hard for the next Olympic Games."

Johnson was also on the American team that finished third in
2000, and he helped the United States win a team gold in 1996 in
Atlanta.
