Nowitzki, Germany nip Brazil in warmup game

NANJING, China -- Dirk Nowitzki scored 18 points to lead
Germany to a 76-75 win Saturday over Brazil in a world
championships warmup.

Cleveland Cavaliers center Anderson Verejao had 25 points for
Brazil. Nowitzki, the Dallas Mavericks star, added 16 rebounds.

In the earlier game, Tony Parker led France back from a first
half deficit to down European champions Greece 72-68. The San
Antonio Spurs guard had six points and three assists.

In Singapore, Spain defeated defending world champion Serbia and
Montenegro 80-65. Argentina, the 2004 Athens gold medalists, beat
Slovenia 94-72.

In Seoul, Turkey upset Italy 69-64 and Lithuania edged South
Korea 83-81 in another warmup to the World Championships that start
Aug. 19 in Japan.
