Argentina beats Brazil in title game
MAR DEL PLATA, Argentina -- Luis Scola scored 32 points to help Argentina beat Brazil 80-75 on Sunday in the championship game of the Olympic basketball qualifying tournament for the Americas.
Carlos Delfino added 16 points for Argentina in the game that was mostly for pride after both teams earned spots in the London Olympics with their semifinal victories.
Marcus Vinicuis had 17 points for Brazil.
In the third-place game, Al Horford scored 23 for the Dominican Republic in a 103-89 victory over Puerto Rico The Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Venezuela -- by claiming spots three, four and five in the tournament -- earned places in a qualifying tournament just before the Olympics.
The United States qualified for London by winning last year's world championship.
