U.S. to meet France on July 29
The United States Olympic men's basketball team will open play in London against France at 9:30 a.m. ET on July 29.
The Americans then will meet Tunisia at 5:15 p.m. ET on July 31, in their second of five preliminary-round games.
The next two games for the United States are scheduled for Aug. 2 at 5:15 p.m., and Aug. 4 at 9:30 a.m. Opponents for those matchups won't be determined until the FIBA Olympic qualifying tournament wraps up next month in Caracas, Venezuela.
The U.S. will close preliminary-round play against Argentina at 5:15 p.m. on Aug. 6. The top four teams from each preliminary-round group will advance to the Olympic quarterfinals on Aug. 8.
The semifinals and medal games will take place Aug. 10 and Aug. 12, respectively.
USA Basketball also announced Wednesday that its men's and women's teams will play an exhibition doubleheader against Brazil on July 16 at the Verizon Center in Washington. Tickets go on sale on May 30.Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.
