Dominique Blake's ban reduced
LAUSANNE, Switzerland -- The Court of Arbitration for Sport has reduced Jamaican sprinter Dominique Blake's doping ban from six years to four years and six months on appeal.
Blake tested positive for methylhexaneamine, a banned stimulant, in June 2012 at the Jamaican Olympic trials. She had finished sixth in the 400 meters.
Despite being a second doping offense, the CAS panel ruled that the Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission's initial six-year ban was "too severe."
