U.S. routs Brazil, reaches final
OKLAHOMA CITY -- After the United States completed a perfect run through round-robin play at the World Cup of Softball, coach Ken Eriksen came up to rookie Amanda Chidester bearing gifts: a lineup card and the ball from her first international hit.
And what a hit it was.
Chidester belted a grand slam, Chelsea Thomas allowed two hits in a five-inning shutout and the U.S. beat Brazil 9-0 on Sunday.
