Johnny Spillane retires
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. -- World champion Johnny Spillane, who won three silver medals in Nordic combined ski races at the Vancouver Olympics, is hanging up his skis nine months before the Sochi Games.
Spillane announced his retirement Tuesday after more than 13 years in the sport that combines a ski jump and a brutal test of speed over a cross country course.
