Equestrian rider dies in England

CONGLETON, England -- A New Zealand equestrian rider has died after falling during a competition in England.

British Eventing says Tom Gadsby was fatally injured Sunday at the Somerford Park International Horse Trials. He was 26.

He was competing in the cross-country section of the three-day endurance event when his mount fell while jumping a fence. The 7-year-old gelding was not injured.
