U.S. shuts down Finland, advances to semis

BURLINGTON, Vt. -- The United States routed Finland 11-0 on Tuesday night at the 2012 International Ice Hockey Federation World Women's Championship to secure the No. 1 seed in the upcoming medal round.

Kelli Stack had three goals and three assists, and Monique Lamoureux-Kolls added a hat trick and three assists. Monique's sister, Jocelyne Lamoureux, added three assists.

U.S. goalie Brianne McLaughlin stopped nine shots for the shutout.

The U.S., who outscored opponents 29-2 during the round-robin portion of the tournament, will face the winner of Wednesday's Finland-Sweden quarterfinal in Friday's semifinals.
