LONDON -- After helping Oracle to a memorable victory in the America's Cup, Ben Ainslie wants to win sailing's premier event with a British team.
The four-time Olympic champion says he will hold talks in the coming days about the possibility of entering a team from Britain for the next America's Cup.
Britain hasn't competed since 1964 and no British team has won the trophy in its 162-year history.
Ainslie told BBC radio on Sunday "we'll talk pretty honestly about whether we think it's realistic to get a campaign together," adding "none of us want to do it unless we've got a good shot of winning it."
Ainslie joined Oracle as tactician midway through the America's Cup and helped the U.S. team come from 8-1 down to beat Team New Zealand 9-8 Wednesday.
