Men's tour cleared for European return
MILAN -- The men's World Cup ski circuit has been cleared to return to Europe next week following encouraging prospects for snow in Italy.
The Italian Winter Sports Federation says International Ski Federation officials inspected the Saslong course in Val Gardena on Monday and gave the go-ahead for the men's super-G and downhill races on Dec. 16 and 17.
Races originally scheduled for Val d'Isere, France, this weekend were moved to Beaver Creek, Colo., because of a lack of snow. And men's and women's slalom races slated for Levi, Finland, last month have been moved to Flachau, Austria, at the end of December.
