WADA reveals 2008 attack on email
MONTREAL -- The World Anti-Doping Agency says its email system was attacked in February 2008, but has no evidence that its computer network was later breached.
WADA director general David Howman says the agency reported the email security breach and cooperated with an FBI investigation.
Howman says in a statement that WADA's data was not compromised, but the agency upgraded security firewalls.
WADA has been investigating claims by computer security firm McAfee that the agency's network was targeted in cyberattacks.
But Howman says WADA's security experts have "no evidence" of intrusions and "the agency has yet to be convinced that they took place."
