WADA committee urges review

TOKYO -- The athletes' committee of the World Anti-Doping Agency has agreed to support the World Anti-Doping Code, saying it gives competitors a chance to play a greater role in the fight against drug use in sport.

The committee is urging athletes to use the code's review process, which allows those who disagree with elements of the code to give their input online.

At WADA meetings in Tokyo, committee chairperson Sara Fischer said: "The code review process is already in operation and runs through to November of next year, so there is no excuse for athletes not to make a contribution."

The World Anti-Doping Code was created in 2004, and the code review process started in November 2011.
