Claressa Shields wins boxing title

CORNWALL, Ontario -- American Claressa Shields won the 75-kilogram title on Saturday night in the American Boxing Confederation's Women's Elite Continental Championships, outpointing three-time world champion Mary Spencer of Canada 27-14.
The 17-year-old Shields is from Flint, Mich.
In the other two Olympic weight classes, Marlen Esparza of Houston beat Brazil's Erica Matos 16-10 at 51 kilograms, and Queen Underwood of Seattle edged Mexico's Erika Rosalba Cruz 12-11 at 60 kilograms.
