LONDON -- The first two players have been confirmed for the London Olympic tennis tournament.
Stephanie Vogt of Liechtenstein and Veronica Cepede Royg of Paraguay have been allocated places in the women's singles at the All England Club, the home of Wimbledon, the International Tennis Federation said.
The Olympic tennis tournament runs from July 28 to Aug. 5.
The Tripartite Commission of representatives from the ITF, the International Olympic Committee and national Olympic committees invited the 22-year-old Vogt for a second time. She has played 12 Fed Cup ties and is No. 258 on the WTA rankings.
The 20-year-old Cepede Royg will make her Olympic debut. She competed at the 2010 Singapore Youth Olympics and is ranked No. 212.
