WADA OKs banned substances list
LONDON -- The World Anti-Doping Agency says it has approved its list of banned substances for 2013 and will publish any changes in October.
WADA said the new list was approved Monday at its executive committee meeting in London, but did not disclose what changes had been made from this year.
WADA's list of prohibited substances is the central document in the fight against doping and is reviewed and revised on an annual basis based on new scientific findings.
WADA president John Fahey said in a statement that "the changes for 2013 will again add greater clarity to the list, and consequently it will be a better document to serve the world's anti-doping community."
The full list will be published on Oct. 1 and goes into effect on Jan. 1.
