LONDON -- Ticket sales for the London Paralympics have surpassed 2 million since the start of the Olympics.
Organizers report more than 600,000 tickets sold in the past month, taking total sales to 2.1 million and exceeding the previous record of 1.8 million set four years ago. The Paralympics start on Aug. 29, 17 days after the Olympics end.
International Paralympic Committee president Philip Craven says: "London has delivered a quite spectacular Olympic Games which has further whetted the appetite of the public ahead of the Paralympics."
About 400,000 tickets are still available for the games, which end Sept. 9.
