Volleyball Hall of Fame adds 6
HOLYOKE, Mass. -- Six athletes were added to the Volleyball Hall of Fame on Saturday night, including Jeff Stork, a setter on the U.S. indoor team in the 1980s and '90s, and U.S. beach player Mike Dodd.
Also enshrined Saturday night were Peter Blange of the Netherlands, Mauricio Lima of Brazil, and Georgy Mondzolevskiy and Lyudmila Buldakova of Russia.
Blange, a setter, helped lead his country to the gold medal at the 1996 Olympics, while Lima is one of just two male players to compete in five different Olympics. Mondzolevskiy earned gold medals in the first two Olympics that included volleyball, 1964 and 1968.
Buldakova, who helped the Soviet Union to consecutive Olympic gold medals in 1968 and 1972, passed away in 2006.
Dodd won the silver with Mike Whitmarsh at the Atlanta Games, while Stork played in three Olympics.
