Sablikova wins second gold

RICHMOND, British Columbia -- Martina Sablikova of the Czech Republic has captured her second speedskating gold medal of the Vancouver Olympics, winning the women's 5,000 meters.

The world-record holder Sablikova finished in 6 minutes, 50.91 seconds, beating silver medalist Stephanie Beckert of Germany by 0.48. Defending Olympic champion Clara Hughes of Canada took the bronze Wednesday in the final individual event at the Richmond Olympic Oval. Earlier in the games, Sablikova won the 3,000.

Jilleanne Rookard was the top American, finishing eighth. The speedskating competition concludes Friday and Saturday with team pursuit.
