espn.com Ali Contest
On Day 5 of Jim Caple's cross-country trek, the Lord said, "Let there be vroom," and there was vroom -- namely in Sturgis, S.D., where 500,000 motorcycle fanatics gathered for a week of wine, women and songs of the road. Among the amazing sights: a beauty from PETA in synthetic leather and a carload of "CNN" free-love advocates. CAPLE: BIKER HEAVEN | DAY 4 | DAY 3

Page 2's Bill Simmons is a fan's fan, a guy who sits in the bleachers wearing a replica jersey and hanging with people who understand the game. At least he used to be. Sadly, we must report that The Sports Guy has gone over to the dark side. He recently watched a game with the wine-and-cheese crowd in a luxury box -- and we fear we'll never see him in the cheap seats again.

Ralph Wiley Sportoon
There are sports nuts, NFL nuts and, nuttiest of all, Dallas Cowboy nuts. Page 2's Ralph Wiley gets inside the head of a Dallas fan, clears out the clutter and reveals why Texans who love pigskin so often seem to be ... there's no polite way to put this ... from another cotton-pickin' planet.
Maybe HBO's "Hard Knocks" should be renamed "The Jerry Jones Show." After all, the Cowboys owner has hogged the camera during the reality TV program. Page 2 cartoonist Kurt Snibbe puts all the focus on Mr. Jones, depicting a typical day in Jerry's life.

RATED "XXX"
Get your mind out of the gutter, folks. When we talk about the new "XXX" movie, we're referring to the Vin Diesel vehicle about an extreme sports athlete who's transformed into a crime-fighting machine. Page 2's Dan Shanoff loves the idea so much, he's extending the "initial" franchise to a whole new group of athletes.

10]  Astros send Freddy Garcia, Carlos Guillen and John Halama to Mariners for Randy Johnson
"A quality No. 1 starter, a lefty out of the pen who is a spot starter, and a quality shortstop who does what he has to is worth more than a Hall-of-Famer."
9]  Tigers send John Smoltz to Braves for Doyle Alexander
"Thanks for John Smoltz, Detroit! The gift that keeps on giving."
8]  Yankees send Jay Buhner to Mariners for Ken Phelps
"One can only imagine how many homers he would have had if he played his career as a Yankee."
