Desperately seeking . . .
Page 2 staff

The story broke recently that Phillies pitcher Randy Wolf wanted to find the girl of his dreams through advertisements in the New York newspapers. It seems Wolf met an "attractive brunette" while he was standing on a subway platform one morning during a Phillies' road trip to play the Mets. She asked him for directions. He gave them.

End of conversation.

As the sliding doors separated them and the subway began to leave the station, Wolf knew only that she was beautiful, she was wearing brown suede pants and she had a black coat. He didn't catch her name. And he wanted to see her again.

So why not conduct a search through the old reliable newspaper ads? Hey, it worked in "Desperately Seeking Susan," didn't it?

The story set Page 2 to thinking who else might be looking for something in the classifieds. So we started reading. You might be surprised at what we found.
