|Hey, I remember you|
From the Page 2 mailbag
We weren't sure what Detroit Lions president Matt Millen could possibly be smiling about. Maybe football commentator/phone company shill Terry Bradshaw had something to do with it in this week's Page 2 Mystery Photo.
We received about 4,000 takes on the situation, here are our favorites.
Terry is checking out the impressive Madame Tussaud wax statue of Matt Millen. The only difference between it and the real thing -- the statue won't melt under pressure.
"You know what the funniest part of this is, Terry? Even if Barry Sanders came back this year to rush for 3,687 yards, we would still be 12 games out of the playoffs. I need a hug."
Matt Millen hopes Vice President Dick Cheney's appearance can help boost attendance.
"Hey Matt, the Rolling Stones are coming to play here at Ford next month."
Damn Terry, if I had a win for every hair on your head ...
"So I says to Howie, for Peete's sake Matt can't a-Ford it! Hahahaha!"
"Yea, so the guys from Ford put his stadium together ... that means we should be due for a new one by 2006."
"OK Terry, you old sob, you win -- Billy Ford did keep me on after 2-14. I owe you a beer!"
"I make millions at my job too! Haha! Only in America baby!"
"Hey, Matt, you guys were definitely better than the Panthers last year."
"I don't know what is worse Matty -- your Lions, your cheap suit, or your bad hairpiece!"
"It could be worse, Matt. You could be working with Jimmy Kimmel."
"Hey, Matt, you can call the unemployment office using 10-10-220."
"Put my cleats on?! You fat bastard, I haven't played in 20 years!"
"Hey Matt, just for fun, call Mike Brown over in the Bengals office and tell him you'll trade Joey Harrington for Akili Smith, Jon Kitna, and Gus Frerotte."
"Hey Matt, remember when you could look in the mirror and actually have some pride in the organization you were working for? ... Wait a minute ... Jimmy Kimmel is ripping on me and we have that Hooterific Barberie doing the weather! Hold me, Matt, hold me!"
"You did it! You did it! Your team covered the spread!"
"Thataboy, Matt. April will be here soon and that winning smile has first pick written all over it."
