What was the NBA thinking?
Page 2 staff

What the heck was the NBA thinking when it scheduled the Sixers and Pistons for back-to-back playoff games on Saturday and Sunday, while the Nets and Celtics took the entire weekend off?

Allen Iverson
The Sixers could have used the time to practice. Man, we're talkin' about practice. Practice.
A. "Well, you know, we kind of threw this whole Eastern Conference playoff thing together at the last minute. Can you blame us?"

B. "Anything we can do to keep 'AI' from clubbing on the weekends with the wrong crowd ... "

C. "Antoine's heckler called and said he was busy that weekend, so we scheduled around it."

D. "Didn't the Celtics already take the first three games off? What's the difference?"

E. "You mean somebody was actually watching those games?"

F. "Danny Ainge is Boston's president now. If this year's NCAA tournament taught us anything, it was not to schedule Mormons on Sunday."
